RESEARCH INTERESTS

1.  Toxicology and metabolism of mycotoxins (Deoxynivalenol, T-2 toxin, etc.)

Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites produced by microfungi, including Fusarium, Penicillium, etc. Mycotoxins can exert acute, sub-acute and chronic toxicological effects to animals and humans. However, the toxicology and metabolism of many mycotoxins are still unclear. We are interested to understand the toxicology of mycotoxin at cellular and molecular level, especially its mechanisms underlying mitochondrial damage, DNA damage, histone modification changes, cell cycle alterations. We are also committed to identifying microbes and enzymes which can detoxify mycotoxins and applying them in animal feed industry.
